EVALUATION OF THE INSULATION CONDITION OF HIGH-VOLTAGE TRANSFORMERS BY DETECTING PARTIAL DISCHARGES USING THE ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE RADIATION METHOD

High-voltage transformers are among the most important elements in an electric-power system. Each one of them is affected by various external factors: overvoltage, partial discharge (PD), overheating, vibrations, etc., which created a strong electric field, thermal effect, humidity, impurities, factory defects, dissolved water and gas oil-type-transformer insulation. These other factors, caused environment, reduce life device. Thus, evaluation device condition factors for system-safety evaluation, ensures reliable economical electrical-network operation. This work reviews different contact non-contact methods, used to evaluate conditions measuring level PD. The selected method, i.e., measurement electromagnetic-wave radiation was voltage-transformer status. experiment performed at 110 kV substation. authors discuss efficiency method insulation condition.
